“Basketball Jones. I got a basketball jones, I got a basketball jones, ohh, baby…”
Okay, it’s an old, gimmicky song, but it kind of describes what having a “jones” for something is about. In this case, I’m talking having a ”jones” for marketing and communication, i..e., MarCom (Get it? Marketing Communications?).
Still confused about the “jones” part? Well, here’s one of the many definitions you’ll find at that great site, Urban Dictionary–
An obsession; a burning desire. The undeniable passion or love for someone or something.
And I, and hopefully you, just happen to have a jones for marketing and communication.
I’ll get more into the subject of MarCom, as well as the MarCom Matrix, in a future blog. For now, all you need to know is that if you’ve got in interest in marketing, advertising, sales, communications or business in general, it might be worth stopping by here on occassion.
I’ll be offering ideas on how to market your business, or even yourself, as well as offering comments on marketing and advertising. In particular, I’ll be commenting marketing and ad campaigns, both good and bad, that I’ve seen or read about.
Who am I? Call me MarCom Jones if you’d like. Or check out the “About” page to learn more about the true me.
Later,
JS
